The Chairman of NMA Benue, Dr Ushakuma Anenga led the SOC, earlier today, to pay a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary (ES), Benue State AIDS Control Agency (BENSACA), Dr Ephraim Terhile Tyo.
The NMA Chairman congratulated the ES on his appointment and stated that within a few months, the state has started reaping the fruits of his efforts as the Prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the state had dropped from 15% to 4% as of the last report.
Dr Anenga said the ES was a critical stakeholder in the healthcare sector and asked for the support and partnership of the Agency with NMA. He also requested the inclusion of NMA representatives in critical working committees of the Agency to enhance the fight against HIV/AIDS in the state.
Responding, the ES thanked the NMA for identifying with him saying the visit was the first of its kind since he assumed office.
He said he was impressed by the earlier strides of the new leadership and promised to support and partner with NMA for its activities wherever and whenever necessary.
